Accomodation

Official conference hotel is the Ghent Marriott (www.marriottghent.com). Centrally located in Ghent, the Marriott hotel is overlooking the Korenlei on the banks of the river Lys canal. SIMPLY2010 has arranged for a preferential rate at this hotel (+32 9 233 93 93).

How to get to the Ghent Marriott

By train from the Airport Brussels Zaventem

The airport train station is located below the terminal (basement level-1). Take the train with direction "De Panne", at 8:52, 9:52, 10:52,... and get of at  Gent-Sint-Pieters Station.

 

Arriving with the Thalys, ICE, TGV or Eurostar in Train station Brussels-Midi/Brussel-Zuid

Take the train with direction Oostende, Knokke/Blankenberge or De Panne to Gent-Sint-Pieters.

 

By car

From Brussels: Take the E40 direction Gent / Oostende. Take exit Gent-centrum (B401) and continue ahead (Zuidparklaan) until you reach the square Woodrow Wilson plein* (Shopping Centre Zuid). At the bus station continue straight ahead (Vlaanderenstraat) until the Laurentplein where you have to go left. Turn right onto the Brabantdam. Keep going straight ahead passing by Vogelmarkt, Kouter and Zonnestraat. Cross the canal and take 2nd to the right (Onderbergen), till you reach the Saint-Michaels church (Sint-Michielskerk). Cross the square and go straight ahead in Sint-Michielsstraat. Take the 1st street on your right (Poel) and continue (Drabstraat). You will find the hotel on your right hand side. (With GPS, follow Poel) Onsite garage parking available. Max. car height 1m85. Max. car width 2m20 *The Ghent Marriott is indicated throughout the entire city with yellow sign arrows. If you follow them, it will lead you directly to the hotel.

You can request a free network map at the Lijnwinkel, located at the main bus terminals: near Gent-Sint-Pieters railway station and at Gent-Zuid (Ghent South). This network map is also available at the information desk in the Tourist Centre.
